It should be considered a crime to serve this must tasty treats in one spot. I went in for a coffee but left with an entire box of pastries. I ordered several of the savory scones and a couple of cookies and loved them all. Both the cookies and scones vary by flavor but we had a sweet potato scone and a lavender flavored scone. I would not normally have ordered a lavender flavored anything but my wife loves it and I am glad she does. I tried it and struggled to leave any for her. I at almost the entire scone. The sweet potato was equally as good but with a much milder flavor. And the cookies....out of this world! The servers were friendly but nothing over the top. They seemed to be a cog in the machine and churning out orders. Overall, a cute little, vegan, spot with really good pastries and coffee. Head caution on the milkshakes if you are not use to vegan milkshakes. While they taste good, at least to me, they are wildly different than an cows milk milkshake. Alot of people are shocked by this and turned off by the flavor.
We come to Minglewood so often, they know our order at this point. The coffee is always good, the pastries are delicious, and I love the deli options in the fridge. My favorite pastry is definitely the chocolate croissant! We’ve also used Minglewood for birthday cakes and catering and it’s always a hit with our non-vegan guests!
Recently had to change my diet and was so happy to find a dairy free cheesecake that actually has flavor! I also got a chocolate cupcake and it was amazing. This might be my new addiction!
Minglewood never disappoints! I’m so incredibly grateful to have such an amazing vegan bakery in Richmond. Even after moving away, I knew I had to have my wedding cake from Minglewood—it was non-negotiable! I’ve actually ordered cakes from them for every one of my wedding events, and each one was absolutely delicious. The flavors, the presentation, the creativity—everything was perfect. The staff is also a dream to work with: kind, responsive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. I can’t recommend Minglewood enough. Whether it’s for a wedding, celebration, or just because—you’ll be so glad you chose them!
The ability to get creative flavors of vegan cheesecake is a dream! We also got a savory scone made with blueberry and thyme, which had a very diverse and wonderful flavor profile.
This bakery is phenomenal! Everything is vegan and delicious. Very inclusive atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. I recently ordered a birthday cake and can’t say enough good things about it. It was decorated like a tree stump with mushrooms all over it, red velvet inside with raspberry jam. This was the best cake I’ve ever eaten! Can’t recommend enough!
Awesome bakery with a wide range of tasty options. Cinnamon bun was excellent and nice sized. Mother’s Day weekend and pastries were disappearing fast! Wonderful Richmond find.
Minglewood Bake Shop did an absolutely amazing job for my daughter’s 1st birthday! The cakes, cupcakes, and cookies were beautiful, perfectly on theme (pink, girly, and adorable), and tasted just as good as they looked. So many guests came up to me to say how delicious everything was—the cake and filling were perfectly balanced, not too sweet at all. They fit our décor flawlessly, and I couldn’t stop admiring them. Highly recommend!
i LOVE minglewood bake shop so much. it's my favorite coffee shop in RVA. the atmosphere is very loving & accepting. the pastries & coffee are to die for! they have gluten-free options as well, which is amazing as someone with celiac disease. all staff is so friendly & welcoming. they have cute stickers & accessories here too. overall great environment, vibe, & food! everything is also vegan, which is super cool! they even have a microwave that's solely used for vegan foods only. a lot of cool stuff here & they always have something yummy & new to try. i have never had a bad experience here & i've been going often since 2023! pricing is also so good, you get great portions & high quality for what you pay.
Minglewood is the best bakery and sweet shop in Richmond, VA! I have been their biggest fan since they opened! With an all vegan menu, you can order carefree knowing that everything is plant-based and cruelty free. Their staff is friendly and welcoming. They are inclusive to all people. They have a pay it forward board so people can give free food and drinks to people in the community who might not be able to afford it themselves. They support local animal sanctuaries. They have hosted local food tours and bike groups. They are a meeting place for friends and colleagues. They provide a safe, clean, welcoming environment for all who choose to visit. And the food is delicious! They have been my family’s go-to bakery for birthday cakes and cookies for many years. I hope they will be around for many more years to come. They are a light of joy in the City of Richmond and the Carytown neighborhood. I’m honored to be part of their community.
